This is what we collect when you visit or buy Kids Who Cook, why, and who touches it. Short version: we collect what a store needs to sell you a course and deliver it, we don't sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it.
When you buy: your name, email address, and what you bought. Your card number goes directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store it.
Automatically: standard web logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) and advertising cookies and pixels, including Meta's pixel, which help us measure whether our ads work. When you buy, our server also confirms the purchase to Meta for ad measurement. Your email and first name go in hashed (scrambled) form, along with an order reference and the IP address and browser type your purchase came from. You can block cookies in your browser and opt out of ad personalization in your Meta settings.
Product analytics: we may use PostHog to see how visitors use the site: pages viewed, buttons clicked, and session replays. Typed input is masked in replays, and payment fields never appear because Stripe handles them.
Deliver what you bought, send you the emails that go with your purchase, answer your replies, and measure our ads. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Stripe (payments), Supabase (our database and file delivery), Netlify (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Vimeo (video hosting), PostHog (analytics), and Meta (advertising measurement). Each gets the minimum it needs to do its job, under its own privacy terms.
Receipts and your access email are part of your purchase. Any marketing email we send includes our mailing address and a one-click way to opt out.
Purchase records as long as tax and accounting law requires. Everything else until you ask us to delete it.
Reply to any email from us to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, subject to records the law makes us keep. We extend these rights to everyone, not only to states that require them.
If you're visiting from California, our advertising pixel (Meta) and analytics (PostHog) stay off until you say it's okay. A short notice appears the first time you visit. Accept and they run; reject and the site works the same without them. Nothing about your visit goes to Meta or PostHog before you answer.
Under California law, letting Meta see which of its ads led to a purchase counts as "sharing" personal information. You can turn that off at any time with the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of every page. We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal for California visitors as a "reject." When a California visitor accepts, we tell Meta to process their data under its Limited Data Use setting. We keep a record of each choice (the decision, the state, the time, and the page, never your name, email, or IP address) so we can show it was honored.
Kids Who Cook is made for kids to use with a parent's help, but it is sold to adults. You must be 18 or older to buy. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes with it.
